Our math is organized as follows:
The day begins with math warm ups, including Xtra math, number of the day and Number Corner.
Our Math block is set up with rotations. Students will rotate through 3 stations, every 20 minutes. The stations include a game, related to the current math concept, IXL skills, also related to the lesson of the day and small group instruction, of a specific skill.
This will be our second year, using the Bridges program.
Some of the areas that we will cover during the first trimester in math are:
Addition, subtraction and multiplication.
IXL
IXL is a great online resource for students needing more practice with a specific math skill.
ST Math
ST Math was introduced to students, last year. This program allows me to individually pin point areas, where students may need to fine tune or enhance skills. Students will work indepedendly on their Ipads for about 20 minutes at the end of the day, on this program.
